Answer: With Net metering facility, grid tied systems are installed. That means when there is more power than your usage, you sell power to grid so during the power cut you will not have power unless you also buy back up system.

Should work with grid tie with smaller capacity dg set or hybrid with control. - Subodh 23-May-2013 » I wonbt be able to explain all the details, but no a 20Kw system wouldn't essentially replace 20% of the load. the system size to replace 20Kw of system load would be around 27-30 Kw depending on the site conditions and loads. Similarly load patterns and types of load also determine this. typically lighting and fan loads can be replaced. Similarly the efficiency of the DG set also gets reduced if the DG is not working at full load. Give me a call sometime in the evening around 7pm if you want more information on the same.
