Dilip Gupta

Dilip Gupta has over 22 years of experience covers a diverse range of accomplishments and responsibilities include Account Management, Program/ Project Management, System Engineering and Bids Management of multi-million dollar Enterprise IT/ Technology solutions contracts with leading customers. He is an innovative, highly focused leader with successful track record in planning, organizing, improving organization, efficiency and productivity and monitoring bottom-line performance results.

Dilip has earned MSEE from University of Central Florida, Florida, USA and MBA from University of Dallas, Texas, USA. He holds a PMP certification from PMI, USA as well. He has worked in Energy and Telecom sectors in India and USA. He has helped several technology consulting firms in the US to grow in the market place.

Darshan Goswami 

Darshan Goswami has over 40 years of experience in the energy field. He worked for United States Department of Energy (DOE) as a Project Manager on Renewable Energy and Smart Grid projects in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. He retired as a Chief (Head) of Energy Forecasting and Renewable Energy from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Washington, DC. Earlier, he worked for 30 years at Duquesne Light Company, an electric utility company in Pittsburgh, PA, USA. He has also served as a member of the Interagency Hydrogen Research & Development Task Force Team President Bush’s Initiative on the development of hydrogen as the fuel source of the future. He was also responsible for preparing and publishing a strategic plan for “ Eliminating America’s Addiction To Oil.” 

Darshan earned his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington (specializing in electrical power system and reliability). He is a registered Professional Engineers, in the State of Pennsylvania since 1973. He also taught Electrical Engineering and Math courses in the evening at Duquesne Light and Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA. 

He is a Senior Advisor for Solar Energy to the Ganga Action Parivar, working to reduce over-extraction of the national river and increase capacity of alternative and sustainable sources of energy in the Ganga River Basin. He is also the Founder and Co-President of a non-profit.

Deepak Gadhia 
Chairman and Mentor, Gehrlicher Solar India Pvt. Ltd,

Deepak Gadhia is an innovator and Social Entrepreneur who along with his wife Dr Shirin Gadhia after their return to India from Germany, started with a NGO Eco Center ICNEER and to fund it started Gadhia Solar Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. They started offering solar cooking solutions including the present world's largest solar steam cooking system at Shirdi that cooks 50,000 meals per day. 

Deepak is Chairman and Mentor of Gehrlicher Solar India Pvt. Ltd. a joint venture between Gehrlicher Solar AG of Germany and Greenforce Enviro Pvt. Ltd. that offers Solar PV solutions for MW Parks and off-grid and roof top solutions. He is now Trusttee of Muni Seva Ashram and looks after Solar and Sustainability to reduce carbon foot-print and be a model for over 550,000 villages of India to follow. He is also Chairman of Excellent Renewable Pvt. Ltd., the first company in India that developed/installed Biogas Enrichment and Bottling Solutions. 

Deepak is President of Indian Biogas Association and Board Member of Solar Cooker International of USA. He has won many National and International Awards including Solar Entrepreneurs Award from SESI and BlueSky Award from UNIDO in China. He graduated from TFH Berlin and TU Berlin, Germany in Process and Environmental Engineering / Energy and Environmental Engineering. 

Pranav Mehta 
Chairman, Solar Energy Association of Gujarat,

Pranav Mehta is a leading technocrat in India with over 35 years of experience mainly in the area of Planning and Implementation of new industrial projects from concept to commissioning. He has worked at senior executive positions in leading corporate groups of India such as the Tata Iron and Steel Company Limited (TISCO), Reliance Petroleum, Essar Group of Industries, the state owned Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited, Gujarat Industrial Investment Corporation[GIIC] etc. 

Pranav is actively involved in the area of New and Renewable Energy. He is holding multiple portfolios - Chairman of the Solar Energy Association of Gujarat, Resident Director of Kiran Energy Solar Power, Chairman and CEO of Global India Energy Solutions, a leading energy consultancy firm and Director in a few renewable energy companies 

He received the prestigious Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award 2011 for his outstanding contribution in the field of Energy and Environment. Earlier he received the prestigious National Metallurgist award from the Govt. of India. He graduated from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Metallurgical Engineering. 

Dr NK Bansal 
Consultant to the Ministry of Renewable Energy, Govt. Of India and SINTEX Chair Professor CEPT University, Gujrat

Professor N.K. Bansal, Ex-Vice Chancellor, SMVD University, is a former Director and Senior Professor Centre for Energy Studies at IIT Delhi. Presently he is consultant to the Ministry of Renewable Energy Govt. Of India and SINTEX chair professor CEPT University Ahmadabad, where he is Honorary National Advisor to Centre for Solar Architecture and Green Buildings. He is a renowned Energy Expert with international repute in areas Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Energy Economics and Planning. Professor Bansal has guided many Ph.D. scholars and has written extensively in the area of his expertise. 

He is the recipient of Amity Academic Excellence Award 2008, Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award 2007, Life Achievement Award in Education 2005, Pioneer in Renewable Energy by World Renewable Energy Network 1998 and Dr. CM Jacob Gold Medal 1995.Holder of Alexander von Humboldt and DAAD fellowships Professor Bansal has lectured extensively in Germany, USA, UK and Sweden. His works on Climatic Zones and Passive Building Design is used extensively by researchers and practitioners in India and abroad. 

Gen. Sinha, former Governor J&K, in his book "GUARDING INDIA'S INTEGRITY", has described Professor Bansal a man of tremendous drive, dedication and vision. According to him, the credit of translating his dream of establishing world class technical University goes to Professor Bansal. 

Pawan Kaushal 

Pawan Kaushal has more than 32 years of experience in energy sectors in India. He has worked with several energy companies including PSEB (Punjab State Electricity Board), BBMB (Bhakra Beas Management Board), NHPC (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation), Power Grid Corporation, and Solar Energy companies. He has diverse experience from design, pre & post award engineering, procurement, vendor management, installation & commissioning to O&M (Ops and Maintenance). He held several leadership positions and represented his organization abroad in various roles. 

Pawan has several years of experience in Solar Power Generation viz Solar Thermal (CSP), Solar PV from concept to commissioning of MW class Grid connected plants. He is also experienced in dealing with Government statutory bodies with regard to approval of Solar Projects. He holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from Punjab University. 

D N Avasthi 
President, SPS Consultants

D N Avasthi has over five decades of experience, out of which 36 years spent in the domestic and foreign operations of ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Commission) and retired from ONGC as a Member of the Board. After retirement, he had been advisor to the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India and Member of Advisory Council of ONGC Energy Centre. He has also been the Chairman of ONGC-Schlumberger Research Centre, Chairman of committees on research programs in Earth Systems Science and Seismicity, Dept. of Science and Technology (DST), and of PETROTECH Society. 

Presently, as President SPS Consultants he provides consultancy to the DST, World Petro Coal Congress (WPCC), World Renewable Energy Congress (WRETC), Geo Resources Technologies Consultancy (GRTC), Hyderabad, as Advisory Council Member of N.G.R.I. of C.S.I.R., Govt. of India, and others. 

Mr. Avasthi has published over 40 scientific / technical papers in reputed journals and received several awards from reputed institutions. He has earned his Masters (M.Sc.) in Physics from Allahabad University, a Certificate in Geophysics from L Institut Francais du Petrole, Rueil Malmaison in Paris, France and a Certificate in Computer Science from I.I.T. Kanpur. 

Dr. T. Harinarayana 
Director, GERMI-RIIC, Gujarat, India

Dr. T. Harinarayana is the Director of the Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute, Research Innovation and Incubation Centre, Gujarat. He also holds the position of an Independent Director, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited. He served earlier as Dy. Director (Sct. G) at the National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad for more than three decades. He is a leading scientist, well recognized for his excellence in deep EM Technique- Magnetotellurics among the national and international scientists. 

Dr. Harinarayana holds two doctoral degrees in the field of Electromagnetics-one from Edinburgh University, UK & the other from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. His academic and research excellence created opportunities for him to serve as a visiting professor and scientist at the University of Tokyo, Japan and the University of Texas at Austin, USA respectively. He has also organized and chaired a large number of conference / seminars and technical sessions. 

Dr. Harinarayana is a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Moscow. He has received the National Mineral Award-1991, the Andhra Pradesh Scientist Award-2008. While serving as Scientist and Head of the Magnetotelluric Division, NGRI, Hyderabad he became a fellow and a member of national (IGU, AEG, APAS etc.) and international (IAGA, EMSEV etc.) scientific societies, academic forums and editorial boards of various techno-scientific journals of global importance. 

Dr. Shireesh Kedare 
Professor at Dept of Energy Sc & Engineering, IIT- Bombay

Dr. Shireesh Kedare is adjunct professor at Dept of Energy Sc & Engg, IIT-Bombay (Indian Institute of Technology) and Director, Clique Developments Ltd. He has been associated with several organizations including CTARA, IIT Bombay, Students for Development (a voluntary organization), Vivekananda Gram-Vikas Prakalpa, Latur, Society for Advancement of Renewable Materials and Energy Technologies (SARMET), and others. 

Since 2001, he has been associated with IIT Bombay and Clique Developments Ltd. He has helped the team to develop, fabricate and install ARUN160, a Solar Concentrator with 169 sq.m aperture to generate thermal energy at medium temperatures of up to 250 degree Celsius for industrial process heat. 

Dr. Kedare is a part of the team working at IIT-Bombay on development of a megawatt scale solar thermal power plant having short-time thermal storage with his focus on solar collector field design, technology selection and implementation, development of PFD and PID along with control philosophy. He has earned B.Tech. and Ph.D. both from IIT, Bombay. 

J K Mehta 
Regional Manager (South Asia/Asia Pacific), World Energy Council 
Chairman, South Asia Forum for Energy Efficiency 

J K Mehta is the Regional Manager of the World Energy Council, a global NGO Headquartered in London with presence in nearly 100 countries worldwide working for "Sustainable Energy For All". He is also the Chairman of "South Asia Forum for Energy Efficiency" a Regd. NGO for promoting energy efficiency and conservation in South Asia Region. An Electrical Engineer by profession, he has worked in various capacities in NTPC for more than 34 years in diverse functions. 

He is actively associated with several organizations in the energy sector including in the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. Mr. Mehta has been actively associated with WEC studies and initiatives such as "Energy Dimension of Disaster Management", "Energy Policy Scenarios to 2050", "Energy and Climate Change", "Assessment of Energy Policy and Practices", "Energy for Mega Cities", "Sustainable Development of Delhi 2010 and Beyond". 

He is a life Member of the World Energy Council, London, UK and currently an advisor to WEC Global Studies Programme. A keen supporter and advocate of Renewable Energy, Mr. Mehta is the Project Director of WEC Study on Energy Access and also leading a Regional initiative of World Energy Council on "Sustainable Energy Poverty Alleviation for Asia". Mr. Mehta is a certified Director of IOD and also a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India). He has a holistic insight of the global energy scenario. 

Dr. Hemen Goswami 
Founder and CTO, Damyant Software,

Dr. Hemen Goswami has more than 20 years of experience in managing and building mission critical enterprise applications. He played many leadership roles in global IT and technology companies including GE, Infogain Corporations, and others. 

Hemen has MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, Florida, USA. He has published several papers in national and international conferences and journals in areas of data compression, algorithms, software engineering, and software computational techniques. He has written book chapters on optimal algorithm and software estimation. He also served as chair and keynote speaker of several international conferences and workshop.

Deepak Gupta 
Founder of Centre for Rural Energy and Water Access (CREWA), and Former Secretary, MNRE, Govt. of India

Mr. Deepak Gupta is Former Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy since July, 2008. Under Mr. Gupta's pioneering leadership, the Ministry mainstreamed India's leading position in renewable energy at the global level including the conceptualization of India's National Solar Mission and successfully implementing its Phase I. 

Mr. Gupta belongs to Jharkhand Cadre 1974 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. A Post- Graduate in History from St Stephen's College, Delhi and M Phil in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, he did a Masters in Public Administration from the Kennedy School, Harvard University, USA in 1992 as a Mason Fellow. After doing several District level assignments in Bihar, he has spent several years in different Departments covering almost all areas of work in both State Government and the Government of India. His assignments include a stint as Adviser (Jute & Coir) at India Trade Centre, Brussels during 1983-85. He spent almost a decade as Joint/Additional /Special Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare from 1998 to 2008 as well as a year with the World Health Organization in Delhi as Adviser in 2004.

He has attended many international conferences on energy access and sustainable development as an expert and has advised UNIDO, UNDP and World Bank in this area. He has also set up an NGO called Centre for Rural Energy and Water Access (CREWA). He is a keen promoter and advocate for renewable energy especially in the off grid mode. He is also founder member of Adarsh, the Society set up for promotion of GRIHA rated Green buildings and currently Distinguished Advisor to TERI for that.
